These two definitely require Mac libraries and will likely stay that  
way. machtest requires at least the presence of Mach, which allows  
the use of the Mach copy-on-write allocators, which are fairly low- 
level constructs.

Only valarray.h and vec.h are meant to be fully cross-platform. And  
by way of inclusion, also mmapping.h, though I haven't yet done the  
Windows bindings for the memory mapped object.
