Hi All

This is the big one, the one that I've been promising so far. macstl
0.3 features full support for Apple gcc 3.0 on OS X 10.4, including
Universal Binaries that include both Altivec and SSE code. It also
has new Yellow Dog Linux support, thanks to the work of the Altivec
stalwarts, SKY Computers. Best of all, it features our new
"macstlizer" technology -- a Perl script that converts your regular
Altivec C code into virtually identically functional macstl C++ code,
then uses the <altivec2mmx.h> to map the Altivec intrinsics to their
SSE equivalents. You don't have to fight the compiler or worry about
your typesafe Altivec code drowning in a morass of SSE symbols.

I'm going to make a special offer for the people hardest hit by the
Apple Intel transition. You are hardcore Altivec/performance coders
caught by surprise on June 6, and you don't have the time or manpower
to do the transition. Or even if you did, you dread having to
maintain two separate source trees just to manage in the next couple
of years.

The first 10 qualifying organizations (individual programmers,
companies etc.) may purchase a Redistribution License for macstl for
only $499 before September 6, 2005 -- 3 months after "the day hell
froze over" in WWDC 2005. This is a huge 80% discount over our usual
Redistribution License of $2499. Just two simple conditions:

1. You must have 10 or less staff. (If you are bigger than that,
consider making a nice donation to a good cause -- macstl!!)
2. You are already shipping a product for Mac OS X that
incorporates Altivec code (before September 6).

Email me at macstl at pixelglow dot com to discuss this, or you can
follow the buzz at our mailing list http://www.pixelglow.com/lists/
listinfo/macstl-dev/.

Oh, and one more thing.

:-)

Feast your eyes on our newest and hottest benchmarks:

I ain't got no Intel-based Apple Development Platform, but it's the
next best thing -- the best (or near best) Intel has to offer today
vs. our current G5 gear. SSE vs. Altivec. Windows vs. Mac OS X. Guess
who wins.

Cheers, Glen Low
